Why did you block the undocumented colleague post?

OP here,
I am a legal immigrant to this country and ironically, was grilled by work visa officers on why I should take a local job from a local person when I lived and worked abroad.
Why is that sentiment not allowed here?

Because it's wrong. Just because a border control officer (or whoever) expressed that very wrong-headed sentiment, it doesn't mean you need to believe or repeat it.

I responded on that thread, OP, I'm a foreigner on a visa, and I don't believe in this myth that foreigners are taking a significant number of jobs away from a country's citizens... whatever the country, yours or mine or someone else's. The most qualified person does the job, end of story. You want the job, get qualified.

You had a point about the competency, though!

OP here. No it wasn't a border control officer, it was a work visa official.
The PC intolerance of other points of view, especially from taxpaying citizens, in this country is extreme.
As a foreigner on a work visa here, it is understandable that you would want to believe that you are not displacing a local citizen.
