Infertility Support and Discussion
|
Husband and I have been TTC for over about 18 months and we are working with a fertility specialist. However, emotionally I am in a black hole and our marriage is starting to suffer. Can anyone recommend a counselor who speciailizes in working with infertile couples. Even better if the counselor has a Christian take on things and accepts federal Blue Cross. I've struggled with minor depression before and I'm headed back there if I don't get some help quick.
If not a counselor, are there any support groups that have meetings in the Alexandria area? Thanks |
| OP, I had a history of depression prior to starting IF tx, and all the hormones just made me cry at everything, and although my DH was very understanding it was was hard on him too. I saw Joyce Migdal in Arlington, and she was very helpful, and I became active with Resolve in order to get face to face support. I think too many people rely on online support which just isn't enough when you are feeling really low. Hang in there |

Shady Grove has therapists affiliated with their clinic who (obviously) have a lot of experience dealing with IF. But I don't think they take insurance.
Good luck and hang in there. This is all so hard... |
