Go ahead and judge if you do things differently, but this momma here is on a limited budget but needs occasional help for desperate situations. What are your tips and tricks for finding nannies & babysitters without paying an annual membership fee on nanny websites? (I make sure to pay anyone I hire a competitive rate as I myself have been a nanny until recently, but I’d rather not pay anything extra in addition to that.
Thank you! |
Neighborhood Facebook group? It works where I live. |
Word of mouth. Oh and if you need occasional help then you are not looking for nannies. You are looking for babysitters. |
Neighborhood list serve and/or Nextdoor app. |
Neighbors, friends, mom listserves, mom groups on FB. |
For babysitters, I always keep an eye out when my kids do any sort of activity. Past regular part-time babysitters include the kids' swim instructor, an aftercare teacher from preschool, and a public school teacher who earned a few extra bucks doing morning babysitting at our synagogue. |
Nextdoor App has been really helpful for us. Don't make a vague post. Add the qualifications you're looking for, age and number of children, and what type of care. |
Just post on here in the nanny search forums it’s free |
