| I saw the dentist today. He said he wants to pull the tooth and put in an implant (with bone grafting). It will be around 6K. There wasn't any urgency to the situation so I'm hoping I can wait longer...maybe get a second opinion. Can I live with a loose crown? |
| Why can’t he replace it? Are you saying it won’t come off so he just wants to pull? That’s ridiculous, if so!!! |
Yes, basically. He's afraid to pull it off and damage whatever is underneath. It's loose but really stuck. Strange thing is the crown came off 7 months ago and he was the one who recemented it. |
I would get a second opinion, if only because his explanation doesn’t encourage much confidence in his intellect/common sense. “If I try to remove it, it might damage the tooth” so “let’s just pull the tooth”?! You should at least try and if it gets too damaged to recrown, THEN talk pulling. But anyway, he should be able to remove it unless he totally screwed something up recementing. The fact that it already seems loose after less than a year already undercuts his abilities |
