shoe strap

I need some mental help! lol If your dog chewed the velcro strap off of your child's shoes would you super glue it back on and let your child wear the shoes again? OR would you toss them and hopefully it would be a lesson learned. DH superglued the velcro strap back on and thinks this is ok!!

I can't see how superglue is going to work long term on that kind of shoe damage. I'd just throw them out and get the kid new shoes that would be kept away from the dog.

Exactly! He's driving me mental!

New shoes, of course!

I think it depends on the fit and how much economic flexibility you have. If it is hard to buy shoes and the shoe works (can get on, off, doesn’t fall off while you are wearing it), then why not?

Kids’ feet grow so fast, she’ll probably outgrow them before it falls off again. If it works, and doesn’t look bad, why not see if you can hold out until it’s time for a larger size?

But I’m going to go out on a limb and say that this may be a small example of a larger ongoing issue between OP and husband. Otherwise, why go out of your way to get public backup for such a tiny, minor thing?

I would sew the strap as it is likely that the super glue will fail at an inconvenient time.

I would duct tape the strap on.

I think it’s fine. See if it works, then reassess. Better to fix than replace, if possible. Love the ingenuity, personally.

I try to be frugal all the time and would likely consider sewing the strap back on. What would keep me from gluing the strap back on is the headache involved in possibly re-doing it again and again, which would lead me to replacing the shoes. Its kind of like when it feels like you just bought your kids shoes and they outgrow them in a month or two or wear a hole in one spot in an otherwise good shoe. Toss them.

This is NOT a hill to die on OP

They're already glued? Leave it.

If they come apart again, then you deal.
