APS, Question will Mondays be synchronous for the reminder of the year?

Anonymous
Maybe I missed the memo, but only realized today was a synchronous day when DS logged onto Teams. Thankfully I was off today as I would have started asynchronous work later in the morning if he was at home with me around my work schedule. I'm just seeking clarification if this was as a one time Monday make up thing or will it be ongoing?

No, just today unless they change something.

One time make up for March 5 asynchronous day

Our school was great and made sure we knew about it (several times). Otherwise, it was hidden in one of the superintendent notes. I think given Spring Break, everyone being off schedules, etc, they should have sent a reminder.

There was nothing synchronous for my kids whose teachers didn’t even bother to show up. They weren’t able to get subs either.

Thankfully, it was a one time deal.
I still don’t know why they did it— if it was to make up for March 5, K-2 should not have had synchronous.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who didn't know anything about this until my kids discovered an hour into school that they were supposed to be logged on! No email from our school, and I stopped reading those superintendent notes awhile ago. One teacher did email but said something like "Monday will be a synchronous day" which of course I read as asynchronous.

So you knowingly ignored APS communication about the schedule change but it's not your fault. Got it.

If your student had teachers that just "didn't show up" please email the supervising AP so they can get to the bottom of it. We need to know about this.

PP here, where did I say it's not my fault? Given that it was the first day back after a week off, it's true I would've appreciated a bit more easy-to-find communication on the issue. I tend to focus more on the school-specific emails because I really don't care reading about how Student Y or Teacher X at some other school got an award, or whatever. There are only so many hours in the day, after all.

I would if it would make a difference. It won't. Not the first time and I guarantee it won't be the last. Kid's in HS so I don't always hear about it until after the fact. Clearly APS doesn't care, so neither do I.
