| My 8 year old recently received a diagnosis of ADHD. Theoretically the school can provide services, but I have good health insurance that covers OT and owuld like to know what recommended services might be available in DC. Thanks for any suggestions. |
First: you will get better responses on the Special Needs forum. What services does your child need? When our son was diagnosed with ADHD we went straight to medication. Previously he had an ASD diagnosis only and we brought him to social skills groups in Maryland at Kennedy Krieger. |

FWIW, my kid gets OT through her public charter school in DC and it's great. (Virtual but still good.) One thing that is nice about OT in school is that the therapist can work with teachers to accommodate kid. Also, in my kid's case, she also sees school counselor so the two talk to create plans for my kid.
But regardless of where you get the therapy, I recommend you learning about what kid is working on and doing daily practice at home. |

We used http://www.themovementclinic.org/ for OT. Yutta is wonderful!
https://www.togetherinmovement.com/ is another option. |
| We used Sensational Kids - I know some people love them - it wasn't our experience. |
Same boat also in a charter school. I adore my child’s virtual OT. |
