| We're looking for an egg donor and are having a hard time with the selection that's out there, both at the SGF bank and even at about 7 agencies that we've searched. We're looking for a specific ethnicity (Indian) and a solid education or good SAT/ACT scores (nothing extreme, just someone who is ambitious and/or intelligent). I get the sense that these donors get snapped up easily and a concierge could possibly help find them. Has anyone used one to speed up the process of finding the right donor? |
| I don't know anything about concierges, but have you considered other approaches? Indian newspapers (online or print), in areas with a large Indian population (i.e. LA/Bay area? Otherwise, how about placing ads in college newspapers? As a fellow Indian person, I will say I know there is a strong resistance toward something like egg donation within the Indian community, so it may very well take some time to find the right match. |

You have to look at more agencies.
A Perfect Match had a decent selection of East and South Asian donors when we looked. We got a good match by your standards -- near top of class at an Ivy, near-perfect SAT. Resulting DC is extremely bright and totally adorable. Unexpectedly looks a lot like me despite the donor not really looking much like me. |
| Could you search in India at all? |
OP here - do you mind sharing how much this type of donor charged for her fee? We don't necessarily need Ivy, but I'm curious. I'm using a service called "Donor Concierge," which seems really good. They scour 100 agencies for you and handle all the communication with the (sometimes pushy) agency coordinators. I feel that using this service will give me the confidence that I've found all the South Asian donors who are out there at the moment. |
| Also, OP here, that's an incredible story and I love that DC looks like you. |
