DC Covid Testing is laughable

Took a covid test at one of the many fire stations last Monday. Is this being done on purpose at this point. This has become normal. 6 months ago they had 2-3 days turnaround.
They’re not vaccinating at the speed they should and not distributing test results. Great job by the city. You’d think Trump is running the city

This has been a common problem the entire pandemic. Most people I know who got tested before they travelled, got the results after they were already traveling. Making the whole idea of testing useless. I have a friend that took two tests and never got the results.

I get the vaccine complaint but not the testing one. I got a test at a drive thru location and had results in 24 hours.

I’ve taken 5 tests in dc so far. The results varied. I never got the results of the first one. I got the 2nd one in a day and a half. 3rd took two days. 4th took a week. 5th took 8 days or so.

I don’t understand what the problem may be. The Same has happened with friends as well. The results varied so much that it made the whole testing unreliable. So if you need to travel you’re almost forced to pay for a rapid test.

I've had similar experience. I don't get how they can screw this up. They have to be doing this on purpose. Delaying test results to show that numbers are down. I was recently in Boston and government testing took 1 day.

Worse still is the inability to vaccinate the DC population. This is inexcusable.

I think DC has been pretty amazing on this (not on vaccines). I have had 12 tests. My boyfriend has had 10. (We have to have a clean test to see each other, state rules) And, I have heard reports of dozens others of friends over the past year.

The times have varied. Usually, they take two days. About a third took 3 days. A handful took less than 1 day. About 3 of the tests were lost completely, but nobody that I know got results longer than 4 days after the test. Moreover, the lines were generally under 10 minutes, with just one or two days of lines of an hour. I think they did a pretty amazing job overall.

"Free," my ass. Someone is paying for these tests and someones are making a pile of money off of them. Who?

DC's school required him to have one last weekend because we traveled over spring break. We went to a walk-in pop up clinic that looked like a spa. Beautiful furnishings, lovely music, full staff. Packed with people who wanted to have a "free" covid test, by showing only their insurance card.

The whole testing thing is a scam that is making testing companies very rich.
