If it’s from the inside, just a baby gate at the bottom of the stairs should work.
If it’s an outdoor set of descending stairs you’re trying to block off access to from the yard, look at one of the 8 or 10 foot long baby yards that you can extend around the opening and either lean up against the house or you place command hooks on the siding and zip tie it to the siding. |

| We use a tension baby gate at the bottom of the stairs. If you have 1 or 2 rails, it's more complicated. |
| I also use a tension gate at the bottom of the stairs. If you have an open stair I'd put one at the top too (I have a door at the top and I put one of those monkey locks at the top). |
