Middle age white women and Adrian (Peloton instructor)

Anonymous
I am so skeeved out by how weird middle age white women are about Adrian (in various Peloton facebook groups)

An assortment of comments:

-I have to change my underwear after his classes
-I don’t have kids so when Adrian says “you’re gonna have a hard time picking up those toys” my mind went straight into the gutter. Anyone else?
-It’s even easier thinking of the gutter when he’s the one talking 💙💙💙😍 Bad girl bad thought
-I just did the Adrian Williams arms workout from yesterday....I had to do it twice just to catch that wink! My husband was complimenting me on how hard I was working out today...lol. I just didn't have the heart to tell him why. Eeeek!!!

It's so much over sexualization and it seems so creepy. It's like they feel very woke for being attracted to a black man or something.

How strange. I just got the Peloton app (it's now free through my cc) and his treadmill bootcamp was the first exercise class I tried, because it was live when I wanted to work out. Decent workout, not very good "banter", and although he's outrageously fit with a nice smile, I pegged him pretty far to the right on the Kinsey scale. Maybe because he's going grey he feels achievable to these weirdos?

I have had a peloton for 6 months and have no clue who this is!

Follow up: I have done three of his workouts! Did not remember his name. Unsure why people go crazy for any of the instructors. Women go nuts over that Cody guy too. People are weird.

He doesn't do bike workouts so someone who doesn't do a ton of strength wouldn't know him as much. I think he is mainly strength, stretching, and treadmill.

I have my favorite instructors but a lot of folks are die hard fans of some of the instructors. For some folks, the trainers are a large part of the experience. The trainers are kind of like mini rockstars.

Adrian is fine but I don't seek out his classes. Love Jess Simms classes.

I definitely have favorite instructors and follow them on insta etc but agree that there is a LOT of weird sexualizing that happens towards them on social media.

Lots of people talk about Jess King's body A LOT, especially her chest and speculating on if its real. I have seen a lot of pictures of Dennis trying to see the outline of his junk on rides, like just gross and over the top. Olivia gets a lot of body commentary as well.

I don't know Adrian but I assume he is a black dude?

His classes are good but I have no idea where you're seeing these comments. Seems like you should frequent different circles.

We may belong to the same Peloton Moms Group OP- I agree, its weird. Like they knew who his Dad and Mom were.

Hes acceptable and yet "dangerously risque" at the same time. My DH (black) felt the same way in college. He has a wonderful physique and was well known for it. White girls were openly sexually towards him but would also openly admit that part of why they were attracted to him is because he was like a "bad boy" someone that Mommy & Daddy wouldn't approve of. Hes the furthest thing from a "bad" boy. He likes comics and Star Trek, has never done drugs, and has a accounting fed job.

What a weird post. Why do you care so much?

It is the same thing with old white women and Idris Elba. I think it’s a combination of “different“ and being tired of their old white husbands who wear loafers and smell like Old Spice.

Why does this have to be about race?
