*Echelon is the WORST - DO NOT BUY

Anonymous
I'm fuming right now. I purchased an Echelon treadmill several months ago, the treadmill broke after 1-week. At first, I was willing to accept an exchange, but customer service was pretty unresponsive so I decided it would be best for my mental health to just return the broken treadmill and get a refund. Honestly, I never wanted to deal with their customer service again.

Echelon finally picked up the broken treadmill - but I never got the refund I was promised! I wrote several times asking about the status, I even commented a FB Post (which is very unlike me). Finally they blocked me on social media!

I decided to dispute the charges with my credit card! Now Echelon is fighting back saying I still owe return shipping charges, I owe them for the "free massager" included in the purchase, and that I owe a restocking fee and for the year subscription fee!

In the end, Echelon is charging me $1000 for a treadmill that broke after 1-week!

Please do yourselves a favor and NEVER BUY ECHELON.

Good to know! I've been considering buying a bike from them.

Thanks for the PSA, op. I will steer clear.

Damn I was just at Costco earlier and was eyeing the bike.

I have the entry level Echelon sport connect bike and no issues there. Large FB user group that praise the bike. So sorry to hear about the issues with the treadmill - that sucks!

Costco has excellent customer service and usually an extended warranty.

I’ve had the bike since August and absolutely love it!

I’ve heard only good things about the bike, so if anyone has any negatives to report please share! About to buy. Specifics please, not just “the peloton is better”. I don’t want to wait two months for a peloton and I like the idea of saving $1000.

Always buy the highest quality brand and you won't have these issues.

I’m the OP. I hear all of you that have great, working equipment from echelon...Of course you are having a different experience. The real problem was with customer service. They are infuriating. No one has an answer to any question! Seems like ALL issues must go through a “higher up level”, but no one ever responses! So it’s always a waiting game for a response and then dealing with a new customer service agent the next time I attempt to communicate. I was NEVER given a call back, even if I requested. I was forced to use FB messenger to communicate and eventually they blocked me! Literally, I would have anxiety when I had to contact them!

Bottom line...if my equipment breaks after 1-week I should NOT have to beg for 3-months for a refund! I should not owe $1000 to return a broken treadmill!

Of course, I can not compare to other companies, but I’m just letting people know that they are NOT a fair company that puts its customers first. They have been the worst company I have ever dealt with.

Please:

(1) continue to fight with your cc
(2) report to consumer protection agency -- both federal and state/local
(3) take a small claims lawsuit

This is NOT okay.

I had a similar experience with overstock (luckily it was relatively cheap but still hundreds of dollars -- where they delivered completely different items than what I ordered, then picked them up but still owed me a lot of money because they also charge return and restocking fees). I don't think I got it all back but I did get most of it back and just won't order from them again. It was the same issue as you had -- the chat and phone people aren't allowed to do anything to help or they'll get in trouble.

And I had ordered all my furniture about 15 years ago when overstock was first invented with great experiences. But overstock 2021 is not overstock 2006. And it's not worth it when home depot sells a lot of the same stuff for the same price. I only shop at places with physical stores (as much as possible)

Hmm weird. I've had my bike since July and love it and have had good customer service. My friend had one and liked it but a part broke that they weren't going to have in stock for 3 months, so they accepted a return on her bike so she could buy a different one.

Good to know OP. I guess if I buy the bike, it will be only through Costco as others have noted. This does raise some doubt on their quality though.

Treadmills seem to be having a lot of issues these days. Peloton treads don't have great reviews, and I think Nordic Track is experiencing the same in terms of questionable reliability. Anyone know a good reliable tread brand?
