Starting Preschool - when? where? how?

Very new to this and to the area so want to leverage your knowledge and expertise on this!

My daughter will turn 2 in July and am starting to think about preschool. I know there are great ones in Arlington (I live near Clarendon) and was curious about...

- what's the age at which kids start preschool here?
- any bilingual options in the area - either public or private?
- when should I really be starting to reach out and getting my daughter on waitlists, etc.?

You can start whenever you’d like. It’s a personal choice and some people don’t put their kid in school until closer to 5 or kindergarten whereas others start much earlier. Our daughter will be turning 2 in September so we will be starting part time then. I think it’s good for socializing around that age. Any earlier than that is purely daycare, which is fine too but they don’t actually socialize with each other until after 2.
