We’re in the market for a convertible car seat. Anyone have the Nuna Exec? Is it worth the price tag? Or better to just go with the Nuna Rava? Thanks in advance! |
My baby has an infant seat right now but will need a new one in the coming months. I was at Nordstrom looking at the Exe and the Rava yesterday. The salesperson pointed out that the cost of the Rava + AACE (booster seat) = the cost of the Exec. I like that the Rava offers a bit more flexibility in what you buy next once your child hits 4/5 range. If i go with the Nuna brand Im getting the Rava.
I am also looking at what I think is new: Uppababy Knox convertible. I remember looking a few months ago and they didnt have an option between the infant seat and booster. |
Didn’t the Uppababy Knox get recalled recently? |
The prior version of the Know was recalled. This is a new version post recall. I'd still pass for that reason. Also the tether looks like it would make it nearly impossible to get a larger RF toddler into the seat, unless you always loaded from one side and routed the tether on the other side, but that seems impractical if you park on city streets/tight parking lots. I have a 95% almost 2 year old and its hard some days to get her in now without a strap blocking the path. |
I am pp. Yes I guess it was recalled last April: https://www.babybargains.com/breaking-uppababy-pulls-knox-car-seat-off-market/#:~:text=RECALL.,the%20seat%20is%20securely%20installed.
That explains why they didnt have a convertible option when I first looked a few months ago (seems really weird to go from infant seat to booster). According to this Press Release the one I saw is the new 2021 version: https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/uppababy-expands-car-seat-family-with-the-knox-convertible-car-seat-301247460.html Luckily i have a few months until DD needs a new seat. Hopefully it will get reviewed by the time I have to make a choice. |
We have the RAVA and have been very happy with it. We've had it for 3 years already and it looks like new, very easy to install, etc. |
We have the Rava and are happy with it. Didn't consider the exec though.
To the poster considering the Uppababy Knox, I wouldn't want to first model post recall. Maybe that's just me. But our baby also hated the mesa and we were out of it and installed our Rava at 5 months. He's much happier in the Rava. |
Oh I hear you and have reservations. My baby is 8M and still likes the Mesa so I have a few months to decide. I have been impressed with my Uppababy items and they have been around a while so broadly I trust the brand. But it doesnt hurt that the Rava in Lake is the nicest car seat ive seen! |
