| Are there any recommendations for young teen interested in lessons. DS has played a little and enjoys the game. Neither parent plays, we don't belong to a club, so don't know much about the game except that it does seem to be a good, life-long sport. We'd appreciate any suggestions - TIA! |
| Falls Road Golf course in Potomac has lessons and it's a public course. |
| OP here - thank you. that's good to know- for some reason i thought that course was private. Presume public courses are the only option. He's had lessons at resorts when we've travelled, but cant think of any nearby... |
There are so many public golf courses here in Fairfax County with 30% discount for junior. You can also take lessons at Oak mar golf center at Reston in Reston. |

Falls Road, and the MCG courses in general run all sorts of clinics for kids. My son did them at Falls Road and had a good time. You can find out more at their web site:

My kids are younger, but they did lessons through FCPA. Cheap and they were pretty decent. |
| Anything in VA? |
+1, at Burke Lake. |
+1. Years back we did family lessons at Needwood course and it was pretty good. For something fun (and if your son is interested in golf, he should definitely do more of the lessons I spoke of before) but I think Top Golf also gives lessons? |
Fairfax County. Used to be called Everybody Golf |

My teen did Oak Marr at Everybody Golf - honestly total waste of money. The instructor basically told them to "do what was comfortable", no tips or suggestions - and it was a class of 4! Any effort would have help.
DD did a few clinics here and liked it: https://www.eismangolfacademy.com/ |
