While Deputy Mayor for Education Paul Kihn keeps our kids out of the classroom, because it is supposedly unsafe, he sends his own kids to Washington International School, which has been open for months

| Disgusting. |

"The highest-ranking education official in D.C., Deputy Mayor for Education Paul Kihn, sends his own children to the private Washington International School, which — with the mayor’s support — long ago reopened, along with the city’s other elite private schools.
How can the deputy mayor for education empathize with DCPS families? The mayor somehow finds leadership and flexibility when it benefits the city’s elite private schools. Independent schools are exempt from the D.C. Health Department’s mandate of six feet of separation and limited cohort groups of 11 children for in-person learning." |

| He's been doing that for years. |
| Email him: Paul.Kihn@dc.gov |
| at least we know how he feels about the system that he oversees |
| Let them eat cake! |
| Of course he does. Does this really surprise anyone? What's best for me is not for thee. |
| it's too bad the election is so far away. it would be nice to throw all of these people out of office. |
School for me but not for thee is the trend of 2020/2021 - Alexandria Superintendent, CA Gov, Eric Fiegl-Ding It's odd how its safe enough for private schools but not those dirty public school kids... Even the national teachers union said they needed to look into how safe school was in 'diverse' areas last week after the new CDC guidance. They aren't even hiding their racism anymore. |

Well duh.
Physician-physician couple here and after 10 years in DCPS we're out of there. Both kids headed to private in the fall. Can't take the idiocy any more. |
| So, if his kids were already enrolled and doing well, you think he should pull them from their school and put them in their neighborhood school because one parent changed their job? I can see an argument for that, although I don't necessarily agree with it. Any of you critics ever done something similar? |
