2022 Grand Wagoneer

Anyone else eagerly awaiting its release? My mom drove one while we were growing up in the 80s and I cannot wait to get my hands on the new one!

I'm of two minds about these cars. As an American and a patriot, I love that the big three are killing it with their full-sized luxury SUVs. To me, that's exactly what Cadillac and Lincoln have always stood for: big, bold, luxurious, over the top. And after a couple of decades of losing to the Germans, and then the Japanese on the sedans, we have re-emerged as the world's leader in the only category that people actually care about now: SUVs. I'm really proud of them, and I think these cars are awesome. I love that they're enormous and cost six figures and dealers can't keep them in stock (Cadillac, Lincoln), or they're filled with pre-orders (Grand Wagoneer).

That said, I personally have no interest in them. I always like smaller, lighter, more efficient, short wheelbase.

It is gorgeous in the looks department.

I do think the 2022s will sell well.

But Chrysler--no wait, FCA--no wait, Stellantis (WTF) has a pretty poor track record of producing unreliable vehicles. They can get away with subpar quality on a $30k Jeep, but I think they're going to be in trouble if the $80k+ Grand Wagoneer starts exhibiting big repair issues after two years of ownership.

Agreed. If it has good reliability though, and I hate myself for saying this, but it just screams busy successful in-charge mommy at the wheel and I will get one for the image. I know, I know horrible.

As someone who has spent time in the autos industry (domestic and abroad), the D3 aren't known to screw around when it comes to large SUVs. Many will be fully-electric in the years to come anyways. I'd never buy a first-year model form any maker. Bought a first year Toyota Avalon and it was the single worst vehicle I have ever owned.

My $80k JGC is doing just fine nearing the 3 year mark. We will be trading it for the Wagoneer.

How the hell do you option out a GC to $80k?!?!

Do you have the SRT/Hellcat/whatever version?

Honestly until they bring back wood panels sides, why even put out a new car. My wallet is HERE for circa 1987 LLBean aesthetic and we are waiting.
