| Is anyone watching this? Show about a widow/widower who married one another very quickly (~1-2 years?) after their respective spouses passed and have a combined 11 children (7 for her, 4 for him). Just saw the first episode and it makes me so uncomfortable - the children (particularly the woman's older ones) seem so unhappy and resentful being pushed into this combined family. The house seems chaotic and I feel for the children who are still mourning their lost mom/dad. Anyone else? |

Yes, I watched it and it made me sad. And what you posted isn't even the worst of it. The widow's dead husband had an inherited disorder that meant he would almost certainly develop cancer (not skin cancer) and die before age 40. They had a 50-50 chance of passing that disorder on, but chose to have 7 children, 3 of whom have it.

| Wow, I had no idea about Li-Fraumeni Syndrome being the cause of his cancer/death. How irresponsible to continue having children after finding that out. My heart breaks for them. |
Me too. |
Me. The whole situation is yucky, for lack of a better word. He wanted a babysitter, she's a loon, those poor children. Given she had 7 knowing they could get dad's genetic disorder, shame on her. |
WTF!!! No wonder they haven't shared that info on the show. Those poor children! Read that there is a 13% chance for glioblastoma and an almost 100% chance the women will get breast cancer, most likely before they are 40. insane to keep having kids knowing this. and it seems they knew before they even STARTED having kids. |
And the oldest girl has had a malignant brain tumor since she was two and she kept having more children! The man she remarried ran a red light that resulted in the accident that killed his wife. |
| That makes me so disgusted on the disorder. I read up on it and it’s heartbreaking! What kind of monster would have children knowing that? |
| She seems like a total psycho. I disliked how she spoke to her stepdaughter, who is clearly acting out because she is in emotional pain. Even from watching their interactions in the pilot, you can tell how the stepmom resents that child. No bueno. |
| Now the man's deceased wife's parents are visiting...and wanting the new wife's children to call them 'grandma and grandpa'. One of the girls was visibly uncomfortable with this. |
|
I'm watching it now and they are forcing adoption on the children and new husband/stepdad is so self-absorbed he can't understand why his stepdaughters would be upset about it.
These two are incredibly selfish ad these kids are going to be so messed up because of it. Shame on TLC! |
| Of course the older children would want to keep their father's last name! How ridiculous. |
|
Spencer and ERica are so emotionally manipulative. Spencer is a straight narcissist.
This is all so disgusting! It's legit making me angry. |
|
Bad vibes about Spencer regarding Emma. Really bad vibes.
I'm so glad she has her Uncle Quinn. And no Erika you're not the only one who has to live with the consequences of your choices you immature narcissistic twit, your kids do, |
