| Got a new phone this week. My old one was on life support. I was ready to pitch it in the trash, but DH says to keep it. I am not inclined to give it away due to the information on it. No kids in the house to give it to. So, how do you handle? |
|
My house cleaner saw mine and asked if we were using it or throwing away. DH wiped and factory reset it and we gave it and a charger to her for whoever she had in mind that needed one. It wasn't on its last legs though I just had to upgrade because my work required it.
You can also donate them to programs that provide them to soldiers or women in domestic violence shelters. Or you can recycle it through a phone store. You're not supposed to throw things with lithium ion batteries in the trash in any event. |
| Definitely don't throw them in the trash. Do a factory reset and then recycle it at the phone store or donate to a DV shelter. |
| Recycle at Staples. They have a drop box. |
| What kind of phone are we talking about here? An iPhone? An android? A flip phone? This needs to be answered before I can telll you what to do with it. If it’s a smartphone, which model? |
