Thoughts on if I'm pregnant or why my period is mia

Anonymous
My question is a bit long and possibly TMI

I am a few months postpartum. I got my period back and had it a couple times (if say at least twice but they were shorter periods than I had prior to this past pregnancy). In Feb my husband and I had unprotected sex a couple times. I also got my first covid vaccine earlier this month.

I haven't gotten my period since then. It's been more than a month since we had sex, but I've taken pregnancy tests and they are negative. I've been exhausted recently wanting to go to bed earlier than usual. The tests I took I had got in a ovulation test/pregnancy test kit before my last pregnancy they are non-expired but do expire in November.

I guess I'm just confused about why my period has gone missing and whether the cheapo tests could be invalid... Thoughts??

How old are you? Could it be perimenopause?

My periods were irregular the first few months (after they came back) after both of my pregnancies. No real reason why. But I would probably get a good test or two and test again.

I am 39. I honestly have no idea what that means in terms of perimenopause. I don't remember my period being hit or more while breastfeeding in the past but I seem to forget a lot.

You are probably not pregnant and those were anovulatory bleeds and you're tired because you have a young baby

I often get really fatigued for a few days before my period starts (most likely because one of my PMS symptoms is terrible insomnia). You may get your period in a few days.

You probably aren’t pregnant, you are probably just having weird periods from giving birth.

The vaccine is reported to cause temporary irregularities in menses. But you have a lot going on. Call your gynecologist.

Why are you having unprotected sex

It's been five weeks since unprotected sex... And I wasn't entirely sure when my period was before that. But I do agree I probably am not since the tests say I'm not. Honestly I'm just confused. Sounds like I'm probably just not remembering period changes after giving birth.

... As to the why we are having unprotected sex? I'm not entirely sure that is relevant.

If your tests are negative, you aren’t pregnant.

I have heard many stories of women who had wonky periods after the vaccine though.

It might not have actually been your period. I bled randomly a lot during the 8 weeks or so postpartum but didn’t get a regular period back until 9 months post partum.

I had a few periods post partum, then a few skipped months, then it came back again. Hormones are still evening out.

If the test is negative, you can trust that.
