| I could not find answer on CDC website. |
| This is the third story I’ve heard like this tonight. So many kids are getting it right now.. it’s upsetting |
|
Are you fully vaccinated, ie., enough time has passed since your last shot? If not, you should.
Do you have symptoms? https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/fully-vaccinated.html "If you’ve been around someone who has COVID-19, you do not need to stay away from others or get tested unless you have symptoms." |
Do you see all the people posting on this site about how they are "done". They are vaccinated or not, but they are just ready to live life again. We've had six kids test positive at our school in the past two weeks. They say none were on school grounds for 48 hours beforehand, but it's still bad news. |
The problem is they base that on the date of the test, rather than the date symptoms started or the date that the child was most likely to be contagious (which is several days before symptoms start and well before a test is taken). |
|
According to the CDC, if your second shot was two weeks ago or more, you don’t have to quarantine.
Otherwise, you do. |
| No! |
Our school does use 48 hours before symptoms started. |
| Yes, how is this a question. You have covid in your home. There are concerns even though you are vaccinated you an still spread/shed. Stop being selfish. How is this even a question? |
It's a question the CDC has answered. |
+1 and also sounds like vaccinated people do not transmit the virus bc their antibodies kill the virus faster than it can replicate.(I don't have the source on this bc it was a radio interview with a doctor but you can google it) |
+1 We had a kid come in looking noticeably ill on Tuesday. He said his mom sent him to school because she needed a break from him. As I was leaving today someone said that he tested positive. I think things are going to get worse before they get better. |
Completely agree. |
The CDC keeps changing its stance for political reasons. If they did this crap under Trump everyone would be outraged. OP got her kid exposed to COVID and that child tested positive. Common decency is to have everyone stay home and stop the spread. |
So we are supposed to not follow the CDC guidance, which says no need to quarantine, in favor of your subjective sense of common decency? |
