If you love the game, and if it inspires you to bust your butt to get better, that's what it is about.
If you learn to take criticism, even if you think it is harsh, and decide to listen rather than buckle, that's what it is all about. If you forge lasting friendships via this game, no matter how good or bad your team is, that's what it is all about. This forum was created with awesome intentions, but as soon as posting becomes anonymous, adults you would think better of resort to nonsense. If you love the game, if it pushes you, if it teaches you that gifts come in strange packages sometimes, and if you meet people who enrich your lives through kicking a ball, then you have gotten what it is all about. And that's good- because the game is all about you. |
| Thank you for posting this. My young kids are soccer lovers, but this forum makes me want to run far, far away from the sport. |
yes! |
| and remember, if you hate your boss when you grow up, you can always complain to your parents on the car ride home, and they will set up interviews and switch employers for you. |

My god there are reasonable parents here

Lol, and yet strangely, here you are reading and writing. |

Yeah my 13 and 15 year old sons read a mom’s blog

Note that I said the sport, not the forum. This is like looking at the car wreck in horror as you slowly drive past. |
OP forgot the world revolved around you and your sons. Kids read this |
Unfortunately, your inaccurate analogy is precisely the issue with coaches and parents in this particular sport. Your concept of the transactions involved in US youth soccer is incorrect. To take your analogy and make it more accurate. You must indicate that the parent is PAYING for the coach to be the boss. If the PAYING parent/customer does not like the service provided by the coach, then the PAYING customer has a right to switch the coach/boss. Instead of PAYING for less than ideal services. But, otherwise, I agree with the OP's post. |

Actually I love this forum. It gives adults a chance to harmlessly discuss something common amongst strangers. Also, no kids are reading this, so the fact that you posted this is kind of funny because you’re just trying to indirectly take a dig at everybody else on this forum with your high horse BS.
And it allows JS to make some ad revenue. Anyhow, if you can’t take some rigorous debate, then start your own blog. |

Good job OP. I can only encourage my son. He has ups and downs, but still loves playing and that is all I can hope for.
