| Hubby, teen daughter and I thinking Springbreak road trip for good food in Charleston and relax beaches. The other thought is Hilton Head but heard of Folly Beach, Kiawah island and Sea Brook island. Any suggestions? |
| Folly beach will be all college kids giving each other coronavirus. Why not stay home for 2 more months? |
It's always such a pleasure when the basement dwelling crowd tries to contribute to the travel forum. OP, look at the Isle of Palms, near Charleston, specifically Wild Dunes Resort. It's perfect for your family. |
| We love Folly Beach but have only been there in the summer - not sure what the spring break crowd is like. In the summer it’s been very relaxed and family friendly, and it’s easy to pop into Charleston for the day. |
| Are you talking about for this year? |
| Wild dunes was fully booked for spring break the last time I checked, so was the entire Isle of Palms. |
| I would look at Kiawah. |
| All of those are good. Also consider Isle of Palms and Sullivan's Island. At this point, you might not be able to be choosy about where you go -- I booked our spring break on Kiawah in December and things were pretty booked back then... |
Yes, adults are fully vaccinated. |
I posted here last week about travelling to HHI—turns out there was very little left that wasn’t booked at our preferred places. |
| You can’t access Kiawah unless you are staying there. It’s not a go to the beach for a day kind of place. They literally will not let you in the gate if you don’t have a pass. |
I asked because you will not be able to be picky. Have a place on HHI and even last week people were showing up to find zero hotel rooms available and were shocked. We went to Costco in Charleston and downtown was packed. |
Also fully booked. |
BUT you can park at the county beach right outside the gates and access the beach there. There’s a small fee for parking and it often fills to capacity at which point you’ll be turned away. |
