DC DMV License Renewal Question

My license expires in May and I can't renew online because I need to get a REAL ID. I am trying to book an appointment online but everything is booked up for the next several months and the system will not let me search past June. I will honestly take any appointment I can get. Does anyone know how to make an appointment or if there is an extension for license renewals (the website says a 45 extension for license expiring thru March 2021). How is one supposed to renew their license if you can't make an appointment?!

there is a extension of 45 days after the public health emergency ends--you're fine

you can print that off the DMV website to keep in your wallet if you travel

Mine has been expired since October. Hasn't been an issue (I've purchase alcohol, used it at doctors appts, etc.) and haven't had to produce the letter yet. Though I keep a copy in my wallet just in case. Finally have my appointment for the end of March. Have you tried all the locations?

Mine has been expired since November. New appointments are released every Tuesday but I found a random grouping of appointments available when I searched last Thursday night. I’ve also heard 311 is helpful in securing an appt if you can manage to get through to someone.

Crazy! This city is absurd and Mayor Bowser is a disaster. How can it function when they can’t even provide basic services on a a timely fashion???
