Just wondering?
People attending the tournament? Just a guess.
Usually buy a sweatshirt or shirt if it is a big tournament. Like a Jeff cup or ECNL playoffs.
Our rule is we only buy them if we win the championship.
Always do Tshirts, Its about building the experience along the journey. In no way do I look at it as a reward or a participation trophy. I'm 100% against that. I think its just a cool tshirt to build those memories as a kid.
Tournaments should sell the “My Team went to [Tournament Name], and all I got was this lousy T-Shirt” t-shirt. |
A smart tournament director gives tshirts to every player and builds the retail cost into the tournament fee. That guarantees more Tshirt sales with direct profit. It also gives plenty of advertising for the future tournaments. |
The vendors know me by first name. Buy one at every tournament. Favs are Jeff Cup and VA Beach Soccer Championships
Coach here. Glad to see someone sharing my spirits |
We’ve bought a few Tshirts through the years when our kids won the championship, when we had a great time for other reasons, or when the T shirts were very cool looking.
DH did all the tournaments and bought DD a t-shirt at every single one. When she left for college (and, yes, she's playing there), we had a huge drawer-full of shirts to give away. (And, yes, I know you can have them made into a quilt, but she's way too much of an HGTV fan to want that on her wall.)
Agree. Only if a championship. Then T-shirt and sweatshirt.
Life is short. Buy the shirt.
We’ve bought a few t shirts and one team photo over the years
Never bought a shirt. Have done the Team Photo... but it wasn't worth it.
