| My sister is pregnant by ivf and is 11 weeks along. Everything has been going fine but today after stopping her injections she woke up to a gush of red blood. Freaked out and went to the ER and saw the baby moving around just fine. Blood gushed but stopped immediately after. She hasn’t seen her OB yet but will follow up tomorrow. We are all obviously freaked. Any insight? |
| Placenta previa? |
| Would the er doctor be able to see that? They just said maybe it was a small blood clot but couldn’t see anything specific and the bleeding had stopped by the time they got to the Er. Op here. |
| Subchorionic bleed. I also had it at 11 weeks. I was sure o was miscarrying. That baby is now 9 years old. |
same here. bled on and off for a while. 17 years old now (and this was after delivering first pregnancy at 21 weeks, so...). Wishing her the best. Sounds like she'll be just fine! |
| Is it just random that this happened the day she stopped her injections? Also would they be able to see the Subchorionic bleed on the ultrasound? |
This. So scary, but hopefully by now you know everything is ok! |
| I had this at 14 weeks. Was also sure it was over. She’s 4.5 and playing soccer outside |

Obviously this can go different ways but here is my story which hopefully is encouraging:
I was on a trip in California when I started bleeding, kind of a lot. I was about 12 weeks. Had a scary night in the ER waiting for an ultrasound. Everything was fine and my child is seven. |
This, except twins are going to college in the fall. Was wearing white pants at work. |
| Happened to me at 15 weeks. Was a bleed from the placenta (similar to subchorionic but technically called something else), bled off and on for weeks, but baby was fine. He was born a bit small (barely 5 lbs full term) which they said may have been related but totally healthy. |
| That happened to me around 7 weeks. Huge gush of blood down my leg. It stopped. Baby was fine! |
|
Op here - so no more bleeding thankfully. Called OB today but they said they couldn’t speak to her until they got the ultrasound results. She called her RE and talked with the nurse and she said it was common to bleed when coming off the meds and that everything sounded like it was fine. Sister had an appointment with her Ob coming up but is hoping to hear from Ob before then.
Fingers crossed everything is ok. It’s been a long road to get here and we are beyond excited (and nervous) for this baby. |
I hadplacentaprevia with 4 breakthrough bleeding episodes that landed me in the hospital. My daughter is now 8

| Subchorionic bleeding is more common with IVF pregnancies. Super scary, but fingers crossed everything will be fine. Good luck to her! |
