Party favors for 10 and 12 year olds

My boys have birthdays coming up. I don’t plan on serving meals, just have a few friends in the backyard.

Can you recommend what to put in the favor bag?

It will double up as food to go.

I don't think you need a party favor for those ages, but maybe it could relate to the type of party? My DS had a nerf gun fight in the backyard for his 10th and we had each kid keep the nerf gun. If you tell us what you are planning, maybe we could determine a related gift?

Maybe a carefully packaged cupcake or some other food-related item? I largely stopped doing favors once they hit tween ages anyway.

You can do a candy scavenger hunt and they keep the bag with candy.

Don't be cheap, serve food. Kids at that age don't need favors.

She’s worried about Covid, not being cheap.

It's so much easier with girls, isn't it?

I'd give individually wrapped candy, Chapsticks and mini hand sanitizers.

She ain't that worried. There haven't been any cases of covid spread via food. There have been plenty of cases of covid spread via parties.

...but they can leave their masks on if there’s no food. School was hard for you, wasn’t it?

If she were worried she would not have a party. Stop with the pretend care

Kids that age are too old for party favors. Give them an individually wrapped cupcake so they can take it home. That’s all you need to do. Do not overthink this.

It spreads when people take their masks off to eat the food at the party.

How are we a year in to this and people don't know that?
