In person Seder not vaccinated?

Anonymous
My entire family (10 people) are vaccinated either due to age or profession or health condition and all want to have an in person family Seder. My husband and I aren’t yet vaccinated so I want to decline. My family thinks we are ridiculous. I think until we are vaccinated we stay out of group settings indoors.

If literally everyone else who will be there is vaccinated, CDC guidance suggests that it's fine for you to attend. If there are any other people not in your household, including children, who are not vaccinated, I would not go.

This seems very reasonable. Members from one household, and only one household, can be unvaccinated and it still is safe.

As long as the unvaccinated are low risk for covid complications (not obese, smokers, COPD, pregnant etc).

If really everyone else is vaccinated - I would go - but if you don't want to go, you don't have to.

Personally I think if everybody is vaccinated then you are good to go. If I were you I might limit my social interactions for a couple weeks before just to be sure but either way you should be OK.

Yes! I will be getting a group together of vaccinated and low risk people from one household.

Just social distance and keep your mask on.

I wouldn't, because while they are all vaccinated, you are not. And they do not yet know if those who have been vaccinated can be carriers. One more year of Zoom seder in our house, and many others too.

I have a similar question. We will still be hosting a Zoom Seder because some will not yet be vaccinated and others live out of town. We are thinking about having my 91 year old FIL and his 91 year old girlfriend join us in person. They are both fully vaccinated. My DH and will will have our first shot but not the second one by then. My DH is my FILs caregiver and has been with both of them throughout. One of my daughters is fully vaccinated and the other will not be yet and is returning from a trip about a week before. She is traveling by herself to visit fully vaccinated grandparents but will only be seeing them outside. I will probably ask her to test a few days after she returns. Seems pretty low risk. Seem ok?

Our entire family is unvaccinated. We are going to have my fully vaccinated in-laws over for seder.

Nope. Let them do it indoors without you.

No, they do not recommend this for a large group/ multiple families. Just one family with another.

That’s not true.

The guidance on a fully vaccinated household hanging out with an unvaccinated household is that it’s only if no one in the unvaccinated households is high risk and it’s only for two households. Not several.

Op, tell them to do it without you indoors, or with you outdoors. Don’t back down.

No. That’s multiple households, not just two households. Not in line with cdc guidance.
