S/O Deal feeders 5th graders applying to private

Curious how things went after all the talk about everyone applying to private school.

We are actually keeping our 5th grader for Deal next year (didn't apply anywhere private) but moving the younger sibling to private because our school has so botched DL that we have no confidence in the fall. Older kid is doing great. Younger kid is a mess.

I am curious but since we’re not in person, hard to get any gossip.

I’ll start. I was desperate to leave DCPS given the serious uncertainly over IPL at Deal. We got into 3 schools (not big 3) and waitlisted at GDS.

I know 4 kids off the top of my head from our school who are off to private next year. Only one of them might have done so in a normal year.

PP here - I know more Deal kids who are bailing for private than 5th graders.
