How would you advise this friend? (slept with ex husband regrets it)

My friend was married to her husband for 20 years; divorced two years ago. They have a teen daughter and are currently touring her dream college where she was offered a big scholarship, went by car. They went in the same car for COVID sake and stayed at an AirBNB but separate rooms...
My friend told me that she and her ex slept together. She is engaged to someone new. He has a new girlfriend. She said it was nostalgia, a one-time thing, seeing their daughter all grown up...they had some wine...she totally regrets it and does NOT want to get back together. She is freaking out doesn't know if she should tell fiance -- she will of course -- but thinks she has now ruined her life. Our friends actually wonder if she should say anything. The marriage needed to end, neither wants to go back to it, it was a blip. I hate to see her ruin her future with a new terrific guy over this...but needs to be honest...I can honestly see how it happened, swept up in the moment. They are both good people but not meant to be married. How do you tell a new partner about hti smistake? Both she and her ex feel awful that it happened. They have an amicable relationship. .... WWYD? |

| Don't feel bad about sleeping with your ex, OP. This is a common plot device in movies and TV shows. Just enjoy it for what it was and both you and your ex can move quietly forward in your newer relationships. No need to overshare with friends, family, and the UPS driver. |
