APS: does “intensified” mean “honors”?

Looking at course offerings for next year and don’t understand what “intensified” means. Is that like “honors”?

| Yes it means the coursework is more advanced than the regular class. You mostly see this for middle school, grades 9 and 10. Once they are in 11 there are often only regular and AP classes for the core subjects. |

| No, intensified is honors and covers material BEYOND the SOLs. So the class moves faster to get that content in. |

This site is full of them, but most of the Arlington parents are lovely and welcoming. |

No. You get one extra point for AP. Intensified is important if you want it noted on college apps that you took the most challenging course load available to you. |
