asexuality

Anonymous
So next month it will officially be 10 years since I had sex, and 18 years since I had sex with anyone I was excited about having sex with. And that was kind of a one-off. Had some good exciting sex in college and grad school, but I never missed it afterward. (I'm 51 now.)

Anyone else just not interested?

DW isn't interested. We haven't had sex in 8y..and only once in the 3y preceding that.

OP here. I'm guessing that's difficult for you -- I'm sorry. I'm not in a relationship so it's easy for me to feel chill about my asexuality, but I do have compassion for couples who are dealing with the issue.

Do the two of you talk about it? I take it you've found solutions that work for you?

Wishing you all the best.

I’ve turned asexual after decades of marriage. Definitely still attracted to men, but could care less about sex.

Thank you. She knows that I am still interested and she isn't. But I am not willing to have an open marriage (we haven't really discussed it as I am not interested) and I am not willing to divorce over this - we've been together 22y and have 2 kids - and otherwise our relationship is pretty good. I mostly just take care of myself when I want - although that is hard since no one ever leaves our house (work/school/etc!)
