Bedtime for 3.5 year old who is dropping nap?

Anonymous
What bedtime should our 3.5 year old have now that he is dropping a nap? We had previously been doing about 7:30/8, waking up around 7am - but he seems overtired. I don’t think he seems ready to drop a nap but i have tried everything I can think of and he won’t sleep at home or preschool.

Any suggestions welcome!

Tough time. I’d go for 7:00 bedtime to transition away from nap. It’s not worth the battle and actually it is freeing to not have to be home at that time (when life is back to normal that is).

My nap-Free almost 3 yr old goes to bed at 7 and gets up on his own around 8. He falls asleep in about ten minutes.

7pm. My dd dropped naps at that age and she was exhausted. We still enforced an hour of quiet time in her room. She just turned 4 and goes to bed closer to 7:15, 7:30 at the latest.

Do you have to wake him in the morning? If so I guess earlier bedtime. I'm assuming he has to be up a certain time for school and you're not dragging a tired kid out of bed for no reason. Be thankful you have this problem and not my kid, who goes to sleep at 9:00 and is NOT tired at 7-8am. We had to kill his last nap before 3.5 because he was wide awake at 11pm.
