Baby laughing at 12 weeks

Anonymous
I swear my baby is laughing. I’ve seen her do this at least twice this week. Anyone experienced that this early? Is it normal/good?

Sounds adorable. Why would this be a problem?

I remember the first smile--not the drunken rapidly changing expressions of a newborn (which were fascinating). Baby was asleep, I went to wake him up, his eyes opened, and he smiled ear to ear. I don't remember when laughing started but I love the belly laugh of an infant. Enjoy!

Mine did too.

DD had a tinkling laugh and DS chuckled at that age. Just out of the blue.

My younger child did at that age. So cute.

My third child let out his first little laugh at 5 weeks and was regularly laughing by 7-8 weeks. He was social smiling at 1 week (confirmed by pediatrician). Pretty crazy! My other two kids didn't social smile until 4-6 months and laugh a couple of months after that. Every kid is different

My bad, I'm typing too fast. He was social smiling 1 week BEFORE laughing, which was 4 weeks old, NOT 1 week old.

Normal.

Enjoy, OP! When my baby started laughing it was pure joy in the midst of postpartum misery. Timing is perfectly fine. Just enjoy it.

OP, ignore this. Laughing at 12 weeks is early but perfectly normal.

I think we could coax a chortle out of both of our's at this age with tickles

My oldest laughed for the first time around 14 or 15 weeks and still (at age 9) thinks life is just amazingly hilarious. Enjoy it!
