I am starting an IVF cycle in April with PGTA testing as part of the protocol. When will the FET take place? May? What time in my cycle? All info I have is for fresh transfers not FET after testing. Trying to mentally prepare a timeline. Thanks!
It can usually start with your next period depending on when you get your test results back. It always seems like I ended up missing the cycle immediately after retrieval but I think it is doable if you stay on your clinic and they know that’s your preference.
Sorry for the clueless-ness - is the FET linked to ovulation or period? ie when in the cycle does it occur? (First time doing this)
My frozen transfer with PGT-A took place exactly four weeks after my retrieval. We had a good number of a blastocysts, so it was up to us but my clinic was comfortable starting the transfer meds before getting the PGT results back. I got my period about a week after my retrieval, and my transfer was three weeks after that.
Not clueless! I asked my doc the same questions. In my cycle they had me on estrace then endometrin to thicken my lining. Prowgesteronr starting before transfer. None of it was linked to my natural cycle besides when I started bleeding. The estrace prevents you from ovulating, so it’s all about how fast your lining thickens. |
If you are with SGF, they currently have about a 6 week backlog so I had my retrieval the first week of feb, got my pgt results back about two weeks later, but couldn’t be scheduled fir a FET until early April.
OP here, thanks for all of this information! I really appreciate it. I am with SGF, so I will loosely plan for a transfer early summer. Thanks again!
