Nursery Furniture

Has anyone had success with any companies that are shipping nursery furniture relatively quickly? I am beside myself right now, I am due in May and furniture that we ordered back in December and January is now not arriving until summer b/c of COVID. I thought we ordered with plenty of time. We aren't going to have our glider, crib, or dresser/changing table until at least a month after the baby arrives. We ordered from Pottery Barn Kids and Serena and Lily. I need some recommendations for companies that are actually shipping these things within a month. The nursery is going to be empty unless I act fast.

Thanks for flagging this issue. I’m due in August and haven’t bought anything yet. I’ll get a move on!

Get a few cheap things off Amazon to hold you over. Or buy some used things, people are always trying to unload cribs, etc. on our neighborhood list serve. Baby will probably be in a bassinet for the first couple of months anyway, right?

Yes, we have the bassinet. But the baby will be sleeping in his own room, not ours, and it makes me so sad that the nursery is going to be empty. It makes me a little nervous to buy used items (at least for a crib), makes me worry if they are damaged.

No problem. Ironically, I was even nervous ordering when we did because I had not had my anatomy scan yet, etc. But it would have been way easier to cancel orders than to deal with this stress now.

Freight is moving now and they are catching up. I spoke with someone who organizes a lot of the shipping logistics all over the country this morning. You should be good. You may have issues if it is coming from overseas, though, because there are issues with not having enough dock workers due to covid and also certain places refusing shipments, too few trucks, etc.

The only time I've ever had serious issues with no shipping was when we'd ordered a gift through Zola-nearly a year late and basically zero customer service. Ended up canceling.

If you really get stuck, a Target should have everything you need.

Thanks, this makes me feel so much better. I think they are all being shipped domestically.

We got an in-stock crib from ikea with no problem.

First kid got a $900 crib, second got a $140 crib. Honestly they're both perfectly fine.

Try Buy Buy baby. We were in the same boat. Ordered a dresser from Pottery Barn in December and the delivery date kept getting pushed back. We cancelled and order one from Buy Buy baby. Delivery times were 2 to 3 weeks. And they carry brands which are greenguard gold certified which was important for us.
