We applied for the DC lottery, but don't know if we'll get in. Any recommendations for preschools or daycares in DC for 3yo for fall of 2021? I'm not seeing many options and most have had deadlines in Feb. Any suggestions would be much appreciated, it feel like we'll be scrambling to get in somewhere. |
Any area in particular? |
Bight Horizons allows you to apply three locations if you are in need of a space. BH locations in federal buildings usually give priority to federal employees but are cheaper. We use US Kids CDC in Foggy Bottom and love it but not much of recreation area since its romper space was converted to a classroom. US Kids CDC just relocated so I think their waitlist is much shorter than it used to be. NCRC is raved about but I dont have personal experience. Communikids just opened several new campuses and seems to be a solid bilingual Spanish daycare with the added bonus of discounted preK3/preK4 if you already attending and live in DC. I have also heard amazing things about Montessori of Chevy Chase and French Maternal School in Georgetown which are bilingual French. |
Jubilee Jumpstart in Mount Pleasant does prek3 but isn’t through the lottery |
Rosemount, also in Mt. Pleasant also does preK3 not through the lottery. I don't know how hard it is to get into this now. In years past there was a really long waitlist. |
You will definitely get in somewhere, it just might not be your top choice. Where are you located? |
