Anne Arundel County to Rockville commute

Anonymous
Can anyone comment on Pre-Covid commute times to Rockville from places like Odenton, Gambrillis, or Severna Park?

Thanks!

I live in Severna Park. Prob 1.5-2 hrs. An awful lot of time on the beltway makes that commute pretty unworkable. (I work in Annapolis, used to do a 45 min reverse commute from DC).

That’s a very bad commute. The reverse commute is the other way. I suggest you find a place to live in Rockville.

Couldn’t you take 200?
Not arguing- sounds like a miserable commute but 200 is more predictable.

Awful. Would never do it.

Are you making the commute every day, or do you only have to go to Rockville once a week or so? I don’t know if I could do this every day, but once a week maybe 2, probably.

Are you insane

NP. From Odenton area, OP should take 32 to 95. But still awful.

Think this is correct. Never seen 200 backed up, ever. The big question is the tail-ends (both of them) of this commute.

It depends on where you are going in Rockville but I agree with the 200 suggestion. If you can find a place on the outer edge of AA county that's an easy connection to 200, it may not be bad. But Severna Park is way out there. I used to work in the Twinbrook area and many of my co-workers said that the commute between 200 and the office was the worst part so you have to consider where you are going in Rockville.

I live near Odenton. I would do 32-95-200. The trick is how far off 200 you need to go.

This sounds insane. Like unworkable insane. Maybe the reverse is OK if you take 200. But everything around 200 will be bottled up the the rockville area...

If only we had a workable s-bahn style system...

Another vote for "that's absolutely insane, do not consider it AT ALL."

OP here thanks for some perspective. We’re priced out of Rockville. If anyone has recommendations for neighborhoods with SFH under $700, please share!

You are not priced out of Rockville. You might be price out of the side of Rockville that borders Potomac, but you are not price on the side of Rockville that borders Aspen Hill.
