| I dont want crazy replies about how the club is all that matters. In the area where do HS soccer teams rank? Where can the players get college college exposure through their HS? |
| You post that like you already know the answer? I assume you mean private schools since it sounds like a choice. I guess maybe the wcac. St Johns, Good Counsel. Nowhere else |
| That is idiotic. Public schools In Fairfax, Arlington, Alexandria, Loudon and Montgomery will give them exposure |
|
It's pretty much only in the private school scene. In the public schools, those players are already playing on top level teams at clubs so they get their college exposure through that.
the difference is that with the private schools, usually the coaches stick around for a long time and may have relationships with college coaches. In public schools there is a fairly high turnover rate with high School coaches in most places, and they know that the players are getting recruited on their own. Still, even the players at private schools are getting exposure through club and high school soccer is secondary to that. |

Ha. Assuming they open and they can play without masks

| Checking out which girls made the Washington Post All-Met list last season is a good start. https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2019/12/17/fall-all-met-girls-soccer-first-team-second-team-honorable-mention/ |
And the spring 2019 all met list for virginia HSs https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2019/06/11/spring-all-met-girls-soccer-first-team-second-team-honorable-mention/ |
| Stone Bridge HS consistently sending girls to college |
| Are most public schools filled with travel kids in HS? New to this area and the intense soccer scene. |
I'd like to see their clubs listed too. You don't really see high school teams playing in showcases which is a good way for a kid on a club not playing GA/ECNL to get scouted. |
I'm in Fairfax. At DD's high school, the best players don't play for the school. The kids who do usually play for NCSL level clubs. |
So its unusual for a high school player to not be on a travel team? (again, new to this!) |
highly unusual for them to have no travel experience |
| Some of the private schools travel for tournaments. Mostly as an earlier poster said WACA teams. |
| Most good high school programs are coached by coaches who also coach at the club level. If the kid is interested to play the next level that high school coach has the contacts to introduce3 them but they want to see game film and all that but don't let soccer dictate their college choices. Go to the best school academically they can. |
