Janney wait list movement?

Anonymous
We're in boundary (no sibling---all those with sibs made it in). Number 7 on the wait list.
Do we have any hope? Website says that class size is 57 kids.

Also, upon further inspection, out of 57 accepted kids, only 20 don't have sibs. I assume that most if not all of the kids with siblings will accept their slots. So that leaves 20 in boundary without siblings kids who got spots. And for our number to come up 7 kids need to reject their spots. I don't think it looks good for us.

But then another person just posted about getting off a Lafayette wait list at number 14.

Does anyone know how to make sense of this based on previous years' movement at Janney or any JKLM schools?

thanks!

There will be movement as kids are accepted into privates.

i think you've got a good shot, actually. we got into a sought after charter for pre-k at #13 (last one in!)

My DD was #7 on the waitlist at Janney for pre-K last year. We did not get in, so do not count on it. I think the waitlist moved to 3 or 4. That said, there were only 40 slots last year and 64 inbound applicants, so maybe the higher number of slots will result in more movement on the waitlist.

My son got in to Janney for 3rd grade next year OOB and my daughter is #5 on the waitlist (moved right up as sib of accepted student). What do you think our chances are for her? Our current school is working fine for our daughter but not for our son so we wouldn't mind leaving her in place, but 2 schools would be hard on us logistically! Also, I like to be involved in the PTA and helping with activities, etc. and that would be really hard at 2 different schools not to mention working FT. Any thought on the possibility of my daughter getting in for K?

My daughter was #3 for Janney preK last year and did get in (inbounds, no sibling). We also were around #17 at Murch and got a call a week before school started offering a spot there as well, so spaces do open up later in the summer.
