Just got ours back for 6th grader.
For math, he had a stead increase from Fall of 2019, but now his Winter 2021 score is back down to his Winter 2020 score (239). For reading, his score also was steadily going up since Fall of 2019, but for Winter 2021 is even lower than his lowest score (218). I'm still confused on how teachers will actually use this info, and while the scores seem to be above national avg, this looks to me that the year of covid DL has lead to regression. I think the test adjusts and gets harder or easier given answers, but does the scores show that he actually know LESS than he did a year ago? |
There are different versions of the test for K-2, 2-5, and 6+ grades so your son is probably taken a new version with a harder bank of questions this year compared to last. There is often a drop in 6th grade scores because of this. |
