I’m 10 weeks and I’m so nauseous that I barely can eat. I am taking unisom and b6 but it’s not helping that much. I don’t want to take zofran because I’m already dealing with constipation. Today for example I ate cottage cheese and an apple for breakfast, an Orange for a snack, and hummus with pita bread for lunch. DH is making pizza so I will probably have two slices for dinner. The more I eat the worse I feel. I am taking a multivitamin and extra vitamin d as well
as a prenatal dha. This is my first pregnancy and OB told me I just need to survive at this point but I’m worried about the baby. |
| Your baby will be fine, it will take from you. Just do what you can |
| Drop all the vitamins that are not folic acid for a couple of days and see what happens. Iron causes both nausea and constipation. |
OP here. My vitamins don’t have iron. Doctor suggested I take a prenatal without iron. |
Thank you =) |
| If it make you feel better I’m 10 weeks too and ate less than that today. I feel you. This is number 3 for me so I know it will be fine. Honestly I miss eating! |
| It will be ok. Good job with protein at breakfast and lunch if you kept that down you gave your body what it needs, and like other posters said at this stage your baby takes from your reserves. You’re doing great |
| OP here. Thank you! Feel much better about myself! |

The baby will be fine. They take from you! Hyperemesis runs in my family and my mom lost a tooth after a baby because it took all her calcium.
I always lost 10-20 pounds in the first trimester. Agree to give up on vitamins, just try to find some safe foods. Try McDonalds, I know that sounds weird but seriously something they put in McDonalds' food helps with nausea. Particularly McD's fountain coke. This is not just a weird thing with me! I'm in a hyperemesis support group and everyone everyone talks about McD's fountain coke. It's not going to make you feel GOOD, but can help. For me I just keep eating and try to eat things that don't taste so horrible throwing up. Breakfast cereal is good for this AND good for getting in vitamins if you can't keep down the prenatal because they spray cereal with a vitamin spray (that's why its part of a complete breakfast!) Also I don't know how much you're actually vomiting, but if you're trying to keep it in the whole time, sometimes just let yourself throw up. I always felt relief for like a half hour after the actual throwing up. It sucks, sorry

| You're doing great, OP. Your baby will get the nutrients it needs. Talk to your OB at next appointment but just be kind to yourself until then. And, congratulations! |
| To the pp who said McDonalds. You’re so right! The only thing that sounds palatable in the first trimester in all 3 of my pregnancies has been a cheeseburger from there. I’m not a fast food eater normally either. But for some reason, since the taste is always the same, it felt like I could do it. And yes to their fountain drinks! |

I’d still give it a try. Good luck! |
| It could be reflux/GERD. Mine is so bad during pregnancy that I was on three different medications for it in order to be able to eat or even drink water. My first pregnancy, it didn’t get bad until 10/12 weeks but my second I had to be on PPI’s by 5.5 weeks. |
