St Albans Waitlist - what are the chances?

Anonymous
Waitlisted at St Albans - anyone know whether there is ever movement off the waitlist (not for 4th grade)?

Ugh. Is this a sibling notification?

Nope - regular application. Letter came today.

OP: I think it depends on the grade to which your son applied. I would say the chances are higher for 9th, and somewhat less so for 7th, and probably impossible for 6th.

We were denied at STAL today for 9th grade. No waitlist. Our son has very strong SSATs, exellents grades, and a very good basketball and lacrosse player. Apparently, not good enough. We did not try to play any relationships as we had another top choice.

Fortunately, we are ok with this as we already have acceptance to our top choice (GPrep) and also learned today that we were accepted to Landon.

Seems like everything they say about how selective STAL is turns out to be real.

I'm surprised you already got a letter because their notification date is supposed to be March 8, 2010 (at least according to the calendar on the AISGW website).

Letters arrived today.

Ok - as none of the girls schools have mailed yet, I have to say I'm feeling extremely anxious by all the WL posts. I'm hoping this just means that people whose kids got in are just being sensitive.

Does anyone know of movement?

Ditto. Anyone get a call?

Anyone get a call for STA? Especially for 9?
