| Might seem like a random question but my daughter has a dollhouse & castle in her room that she loves to play with. My 5-year old (almost 6) has some random cars and toys in his room but not one big thing that he can play with that will entertain him for a while but not take up a lot of space. Any ideas on something that we can keep in his room? He loves cars, trucks, firetrucks, planes etc. |
My suggestion is to get a lot of legos and one of those lego cleanup bags. Like this. I have twins and Legos were always good time consuming toys. And this allows them to use them and then clean up store them quickly so that the room can be used for other things. At 9 Legos are still good. One of them is building with his Legos right now on a break between classes.

| Magnatiles. Small legos are too hard for 5 year olds still. |
You can put Duplo blocks into the Lego Bag. Same thing. My kids loved Duplos at that age (I'm the PP who suggested the Lego Bag). |
| My 4.5 year old is definitely into the small legos (they have 4+ and 5+ ones) and also Duplos. He has a big train track set. Maybe a train/lego table. |
| Imaginext has some cool structures. My son used to have a bat cave. |
| how about a parking garage toy or a firehouse (dollhouse) |
Are you me? I was coming on here to write the EXACT same thing. I also have a 4 1/2 year old who prefers small legos, but does have a couple Duplo train sets in her room that she plays with frequently in the mornings. After months of hounding, she's become pretty good at putting them into the right bin when she's done. |
Why not get him his own dollhouse or castle? |
| How about hot wheels and a hot wheel garage? |
