Sibley Sleep Center Experiences

Does anyone has any recent experience with the Sibley Sleep Center? Or if you had a positive experience at a sleep center during Covid, please share.

Thanks!

I did a sleep study maybe 5 years ago or so but will tell you what i know because maybe there are not too many of us here.

The sleep center is in the basement of the hospital (no windows/light). I don't know how many patients can be accomodated at once but when I was there it was just me and one other guy. There is a tech who sets you up and also stays there all night for observation. Each room is a cross between a hospital room and a hotel room and has its own bathroom. It's a little bit homier than a regular hospital room.

The beds are full size/not hospital beds. They will get you extra pillows and blankets to be comfortable. The process of putting on all of the nodes takes like 45 minutes, and you are connected to monitors so they make you go to the bathroom first.

I did a nighttime study immediate followed by a daytime study. They woke me up with breakfast. I don't know who ordered the breakfast but it was gross, so maybe you want to ask the night before if you can pick what you want for breakfast.

There was TV and wifi. I teleworked when I was in my "awake" periods between the daytime naps.

It's a little disorienting to be in the basement for so long, but in the end it was fine and they tried to make me comfortable.

You will want to shower when you get home. They use sticky stuff to put the nodes on your skin and scalp. Also I think they film you when sleeping - you can ask - so plan to change clothes in the bathroom / wear clothes while sleeping.
