Clarification of death thread policy

Since I don’t want the ol’ 24 hour ban hammer, I though I would ask you here. Is it fair to post a tweet such as this:

Thank you for posting this.

Important perspective.

Not today. Obviously, a lot of negative things can be said about Limbaugh. More than can be said about most people, in fact. But, just imagine that your greatest political hero (if you have any) had just died. How would you feel about negative posts about that person on that day? Limbaugh is not my hero, but he is some people's. Let's respect them for a couple of days.

I won’t respect him or them, thank you, but I respect you, so I won’t post it.

You're a gem, pp (and I wholeheartedly agree with you!).

Why are you allowing posters to circumvent your rule by posting stupid comments like, “I won’t post what I REALLY think out of ‘respect’ for Jeff”?? They should all be deleted banned.

I’m the OP of this thread and I’m the one who wrote that comment on that thread and that post is more than kind about that person.

Jeff, what’s your appropriate interval before we can discus the truth of Rush over in politics?

Then your comment should be deleted and you should be banned. You clearly don’t have the self-control to simply not comment at all. Instead, you think it’s “cute” to comment about how you’re not *really* commenting, because if you were *really* going to comment, you’d say something horrible, and you just want everyone to know that. Do us all a favor - see if you have the maturity to just shut up when your comments aren’t welcome.

Jeff, while I probably disagree with you on a lot of things, I wanted to take a minute and tell you this because I think you’ve earned it:

Thank you for your maintaining decency and decorum in the “Rush has died” thread. While I’m sure you probably weren’t a fan of his, I respect and appreciate your decision to enforce a policy of not speaking ill of the dead. That was very kind of you.

48 hours is fair. It affords the opportunity for fans of Limbaugh to post their condolences and commiserate with each other without interference or bickering from antagonists.

After a couple days his fans will have had their say, and the thread can be handed over to the trolls and ghouls and devolve from there.

But thank you. That was very decent of you.

So anybody who didn't like RL is a troll or ghoul? Or is it just anybody who would say how they really felt a few days after he died? When exactly would it be okay to speak the truth?

I wasn’t speaking to you. I was speaking to Jeff.

Maybe you should think about all the innocent people RL insulted and disrespected while he was on air all those years.
