Our senior is graduating from a therapeutic boarding school in June and we are looking for a transition program or college with serious supports close to DC. Maryland, VA, West VA. Autism spectrum, some ODD, ADD, impulse control, low self-esteem. Smart kid, natural leader who just needs lots of support.

Anyone heard of Marshall university in WVA?

I've been really happy with the support at McDaniel.

If you're willing to go a little further, the AIM program at Mercyhurst has a very good reputation.

Not personal experience, but I have heard very good things about McDaniel and Washington College.

I’ve heard of Marshall as offering accommodations but I don’t have first hand experience

We are still a few years out, but my child's therapist recommends Mansfield Hall, which supports students at several colleges: https://mansfieldhall.org/

If you're looking for that level of support, I'd also look at College Living Experience.

I've heard great things about George Mason. They have a program for students on the spectrum. My hope is that my son will someday go there.

OP here. I ignore the unhelpful. I can never understand why people feel they need to be cruel.
