Our daycare is bringing kids from all the classrooms together at the end of the day for pickup because parents are no longer allowed in. The room is large, but it still seems extremely stupid to me.
How annoyed / freaked out would you be by this? |
Seems foolish if they are going through the effort to keep the class rooms separated all day. |
That is foolish. |
Thats very short sighted. |
Doesn’t make sense. If there’s a positive case they likely have to shut down the entire school rather than just the classroom with the positive case. |
I wouldn't like it...but I would also fully realize that they are doing the best they can.
Enrollment is down, and if they can save money by sending teachers home as soon as kids start getting picked up, well...they have to stay open, right? My advice is to pick your child up as early as possible to avoid being there when the room combining happens. |
I do try to pick up before the all end up in the same room, but other parents in the class don’t. |
I agree that it’s not necessarily ideal but statistically speaking probably still relatively low risk assuming they’re all in masks, distancing, and only in the space together briefly. |
I work in MoCo and we’re not allowed to do that. Combining groups is not an option. Where are you, OP? |
Only kids 5+ are in masks; I think they go downstairs about 45 minutes before closing. Does anyone know if this against any Covid regulations in Virginia? |
Virginia |
I think they either do this or reduce their hours (as our MoCo daycare had to do to comply with the regulations). |
My school used to do that but it was a narrower hallway. Then there was an outbreak and now they have walkie talkies to call each child up individually. |
