Amazon should create a Covid-DC Website

Anonymous
Seriously. Jeff Bezos, if you haven't steeped down yet as Amazon's CEO, maybe you could volunteer a few of your software engineers to come up with a website that aggregates all the different Covid vaccination sites? My inspiration:
https://www.nytimes.com/2021/02/09/nyregion/vaccine-website-appointment-nyc.html

Huge Ma, a 31-year-old software engineer for Airbnb, was stunned when he tried to make a coronavirus vaccine appointment for his mother in early January and saw that there were dozens of websites to check, each with its own sign-up protocol. The city and state appointment systems were completely distinct.

“There has to be a better way,” he said he remembered thinking.

So, he developed one. In less than two weeks, he launched TurboVax, a free website that compiles availability from the three main city and state New York vaccine systems and sends the information in real time to Twitter. It cost Mr. Ma less than $50 to build, yet it offers an easier way to spot appointments than the city and state’s official systems do.

Why do we need amazon? Hire Huge Ma.

The problem in DC is there are so many private pathways- employer clinics and hospital lists. If youre not "invited" - you can only sign up thru the existing DC site. Agree its very glitchy and maybe Huge can fix that for them? They seem in no hurry.

I’ve been saying should be in charge of vaccine distribution nation-wide. As much as a douche Bezos is, he gets shit done.

Amazon should definitely not be in charge of vaccine distribution nationwide. One, it's a bad idea to have any private business "in charge" of something like this instead of the federal government. Two, how much money would they demand for the contract? Three, this would only accelerate Amazon's attempt to take over the health care sector.

I say that as someone who shops a lot at Amazon and owns Amazon stock (and subscribes to Bezos's newspaper). But this is a bad idea.

Get Chick-fil-A on this! The only downside is no vaccinations on Sundays.
