Do you think that a kid’s feet size is an indication (not without exceptions) of his/her adult height? My DD is 7 and is above average in height, but not super tall. Among 10 girls she would usually be the third tallest or something like that. She used to be very tall when little, but in the last 2-3 years she has slowed down a bit in comparison to her friends. Her feet are however super long (or I think they are). At 7 she wears size 3 big kids. DH is 6’3” and I am 5’4”.
I don’t care how tall she will be (and honestly I would not want to be 6 feet tall myself), but I am curious whether feet size is an indication of future height. DH sisters are also very tall (6’ one and 5’11” the other). Thanks |
| Generally taller people have bigger feet. My 6'-5" cousin has to turn his feet sideways to walk up a typical staircase. But she's only 7, so I don't think you can assume anything about her adult height based on current foot size. |
| My feet stopped growing at 9, and I got my period at 11. Were you an early bloomer? |
| I wear Size 10 women's shoes and I'm 5 4. My mother was taller than me and wore Size 7. |
| DD14 is done growing. She ended up about 2” shorter than I am and 3” shorter than her sister and has the biggest shoe size of the three of us. Some people just have big (or small) feet. |
OP here. I was (I think), but my feet grew until 12 at least and I got my period at 12... nit sure whether that’s considered an early bloomer |

OP here. Thank you. It was just something I thought about yesterday. DD’s hands and feet are really long and disproportionate to the rest of her body almost. Maybe she will be an amazing swimmer 😊
I think she will probably end up taller than the rest of her siblings because she is the one that looks the most like her dad and his family. We’ll just have to wait and see |

DH is 6'3" and wears a size 11 shoes. He does not have big feet but he has long digits - fingers and toes. DD is 12 and wears a size 5.5 women, and is 4'9", has not started her period, so I assume her feet will continue to grow.
She also has long digits. Our hands are the same size, but her palms are smaller than mine, and her fingers are longer. Yes, I have very small hands, and I am super short. |
| I think there is some correlation. My youngest DS at ten had feet three shoe sizes larger than his father, and two sizes larger than his older brother. He ended up four inches taller than his Dad, and two inches taller than his older brother. |
| I'm 5'5" with a 9/9.5 |
| I My 5 year old is in the 10th percentile for height and has size 13.5 feet. I am 5’5 and have size 9.5 feet. But since your husband is tall, I’d say it’s likely your kid will be a few inches taller than you. My husband is super short at 5’8 so my kid will likely be short and just have clown feet like me. |

I don't know if there is a direct correlation between feet size and height. For instance, my mom was about 5'6" at her peak, she never wore over a size 9 show. I'm about 5'5.5" and have worn a size 10.5 shoe for most of my life. BIL is about 6'1" and wears the same size shoe I do (male 8.5). Yes, I recognize that I basically have clown feet. DS(13), who is basically a male version of me, has always been above 97% percentile in height, only wears a size 8 adult male shoe, whereas his 9yr old brother (above 95% percentile in height and clone of above average height DH) wears a size 7 shoe.

Yeah, this is probably Googleable, but intuitively and anecdotally, there's probably some correlation between height and foot size, but nothing close to a guarantee.
My young adult niece wears a size 8.5, which isn't terribly big, but she's 4'11". (My adult cousin is the same height and wears a 4!) And then DH's male best friend is 5'11" and wears a size 8 men's shoe. His fingers are only barely longer than mine! (I'm a 5'2" woman with very short fingers-- I wear kid's gloves-- and I wear a 6.5 shoe.) The niece and DH's best friend seem more like exceptions, though, because, for example, my brother, dad and DH all wear a size 9-9.5 men's shoe (smaller than average) and are 5'5"-5'8" (shorter than average). |
| No. My H is just 6 ft tall and wears size 12. |
| My sister and I are the same height and she wears size 10 shoes and I swear size 7.5. |
